Why kill it as an Ironman

Bow of faerdhinen + Crystal armour: THE mid-game ironman grind. Crystal shards, Enhanced weapon seed. No supply cost.

First 10 min of prep (7:30 in Corrupted): resources, weapons, armour and paddlefish. Then the Crystalline Hunllef (674, 600 HP): 4 ranged attacks, 4 magic, it changes its prayer every 6 of your hits, tornadoes and burning floor.

Ranged (4 attacks)

It always opens with 4 Ranged. Protect from Missiles.

Then 4 Magic: Protect from Magic. One of them (different sound) turns off your prayers: turn them back on instantly with quick prayers.

Tornadoes

1-3 purple tornadoes chase you (one more in Corrupted): 10-20 per tick. Run and don't get cornered.

Blue tiles turning orange: 10-25 per tick. Step off; near the end of Corrupted they change very fast.

Under the Hunllef it tramples for 50+. Never stay under it.

Prayer switch

Every 6th attack of yours it prays against the style you used. Bring 2 styles and swap weapon (or punch) on the 6th.

1. Kill the weak monsters in the rooms next to the start: the first spider, rat or bat always drops a weapon frame (July 2026 change). Gather about 50 shards; they go straight to your inventory.
2. Singing Bowl: attuned staff (tier 2) and 2 vials.
3. Gather paddlefish, 3 ore, 3 linum, 3 bark (7 if new) and 2 grym leaves. Fill vials at the fishing spots.
4. Go to the far north, east, south or west room: since July 2026 there is always a demi-boss there (Dark Beast = bowstring, Dragon = orb, Bear = spike). 2nd frame and 220 shards. Teleport crystal back.
5. Cook, basic armour (150 shards), 2nd weapon tier 2 (50), upgrade it to tier 3 and grind 20 shards for 2 Egniol potions.
6. Hunllef: protection + offensive prayer always; swap weapon every 6th hit; dodge tornadoes and tiles.

• 💡 Full basic armour lowers its max hit from 12 to 10 with the right prayer; attuned to 8 (4 more ore/linum/bark and 200 shards). Worth it while learning.
• 💡 Any 3 demi-bosses give all 3 upgrades (never repeats). A spare one crushes with a pestle and mortar for 80 shards.
• 💡 Zero supply cost. For ironmen Deadeye and Mystic Vigour are enough. Corrupted: 1000 HP, more damage and an extra loot roll.
