Mechanics: what hits you and what to pray
Group boss (up to 20; instance 50k) on the Darkfrost. 4 phases: 5 body segments (250 HP), head (2500 HP), tail with capped damage (300 HP) and a final phase. Crush melee, weak to dragonbane.

Symbols
They spawn on the ground; after 4 ticks lightning strikes (up to 16). Step off.
Rain Fire
Red with smoke = melee, green = ranged, blue spinning = magic. Pray by colour (0-2; up to 14 without).
Pillars (phase 2)
3 pillars charge with Protect from Magic (blue), Melee (red) and Missiles (green). Balanced prayers (3+ players) = +30% damage. Solo or duo: ignore them.
Tail and shockwave
Phase 3: 300 HP, damage capped at 4 (9 if crush is your highest bonus; misses deal 1). Swaps sides every ~20 s with a 20-25 shockwave: run through it diagonally. HP > 40.
Final phase
It attacks much faster and the tail keeps sending shockwaves every ~15 s. The 2 farthest tiles of the row in front of it are safespots.
Step by step
- Children of the Sun and talk to Taala at the camp. Pendant of Ates (The Heart of Darkness) or quetzal to Quetzacalli Gorge.
- Phase 1: kill the 5 segments (1x1 hitbox: shift + right-click Tag-All or Mark object). Dodge symbols and pray the feathers.
- Phase 2: go up to the summit and hit the head. In teams, everyone calls their prayer for the pillars.
- At 50%, tail: swap to a multi-hit crush weapon (Dual macuahuitl, Glacial temotli, Torag's hammers) and dodge the shockwaves.
- Final phase: head with lightning and shockwaves. Bank at the bank buffalo (east slope); it respawns in 30 s, go back to the start or you get knocked down.

Ironman tips
- 💡 Defence 125 and defence-draining specs only drain 5 levels: bring damage specs (claws) or an Ursine chainmace for the tail.
- 💡 Joining after phase 1 heavily reduces your contribution. Death Charge doesn't work on the tail. 'Huey Host' channel and world 420 for groups.
- 💡 Solo ~8 min with top gear (the tail is the slow part); trio ~5 min. Blood moon + Dual macuahuitl speeds up the tail a lot.
