Solo instanced boss in Vampyrium (The Blood Moon Rises). It starts at range: only heavy ranged or fire spells until it drops below ~980 HP (65%); you finish it with melee while dodging its slams. Pray against its attack, drop prayer for the screech and shoot the larvae mid-air.

Green spit

Ranged (max 46, blocked by prayer). Leaves poisonous bile on your tile plus 2 more and poisons you (8). Don't step on it. Serpentine helm + anti-venom+ make you immune.

Yellow spit

Magic (max 46, blocked). Leaves sticky bile: stepping on it drains Attack, Strength or Defence and delays your attack 1 tick. An inoculation bracelet makes you immune.

Screech

After 4-8 attacks it glows white: prayer off or take 15-25 per tick. Carrion falls (up to 25): watch the shadows and move away. Then it swaps style (ranged <-> magic). Its Defence drops to 100: spec time.

Larvae

Under ~83% it launches an ur-maggot larva per screech (alternating west/east). Shoot it with a bow and arrows before it lands and it dies instantly. If it reaches you it bites and heals the boss. Under ~19% it launches up to 4.

Melee slam

Under ~65%: after the screech it walks to the wall, lines up with you and slams 3x4 (max 55, 35 with Protect from Melee) dropping 3 biles. Step to its easternmost or westernmost tile just before. Hit it on the same tick as the slam: +50% damage and it almost never misses with crush.

1. Drakan's medallion to Castle Drakan, enter Vampyrium and head east. Rescue the aranei scout south-east of Sangvesti (kill 3 sanguidae) for quick travel; 64 Agility for the shortcuts and 70 Construction for the bank chest.
2. Range phase: crossbow with ruby bolts (e) or Fire surge/Fire wave with a Tome of fire (each burn stack strips 20 magic defence). It always opens with ranged: Protect from Missiles.
3. On every white aura: prayer off, dodge the carrion, shoot the larva and pray against the new style. Zaryte crossbow spec during the screech; on magic, Eye of Ayak at 5 burn stacks.
4. Under ~980 HP switch to crush melee (Inquisitor's, bludgeon or Dharok's): wait out the slam on its side tile, step out and hit; click on the same tick as the slam for the punish. After each screech it retreats back to range.
5. Under ~305 HP (20%) it stops retreating: melee only, ignore the screech and finish it. Then Open-stomach (normal loot) or Take-eggs (pet).

• 💡 Elder venator fang (1/340) + 84 Crafting: Necklace of anguish -> Necklace of rupture (BIS ranged necklace). Crimson kisten (1/520): 2h crush with a spec. Deaths cost 75% less until 5 kills.
• 💡 RuneLite Maggot King plugin: hides carrion and trees and highlights boss and larvae. Custom Menu Swaps: Attack,Ur-maggot* to click larvae first. Venator bow bounces between larvae.
• 💡 Use the Stymphike tartares and dull ancient medal it drops (41/159): they restore Prayer, heal and can boost stats, often adding an extra kill per trip. On ranged keep your HP low: ruby bolts punish you.
