Why kill it as an Ironman

Torva (melee BIS), Zaryte crossbow/vambraces, Ancient hilt, Nihil horn. Optional: most ironmen skip it unless they want Torva or the ZCB; best in masses.

Zarosian general of the Ancient Prison (The Frozen Door). Team fight with 5 phases: smoke, shadow, blood, ice and Zaros; in each one you must kill her mage when she calls it. Ranged with a crossbow; Twisted bow or blowpipe for the mages.

Smoke (100-80%)

Smoke Rush poisons. Everyone in melee range: her melee hits one player (the target prays Melee, then Magic). Choke: the furthest player with the lowest magic defence gets infected (*Cough*) and spreads it to neighbours. No escape: she faces an aisle and dashes it (50): get out. Kill Fumus.

Shadow (80-60%)

Ranged shots: Protect from Missiles halves them and they hit harder the closer you are (up to 30): attack from 8-10 tiles. Fear the shadow: move within 3 ticks. Embrace darkness: stay away from her. Kill Umbra.

Blood (60-40%)

Blood Barrage heals her and drains Prayer: spread out while in melee range. Siphon: she summons reavers and all damage heals her for ~8 ticks: stop attacking. Sacrifice: if you glow red run 7 tiles within 4 s. Kill Cruor.

Ice (40-20%)

Ice Barrage freezes you unless praying Magic. Contain this!: 5x5 icicles around her (60, disables prayers): step away. Ice prison: break a stalagmite with stab/crush or a salamander within 4 s. Kill Glacies (it freezes through prayer).

Zaros (20-0%)

She heals 500 and uses melee and magic with Turmoil. Everyone stacks in melee range. Praying Magic before she casts cuts 50%. Soul Split, Deflect Melee (no melee for 4 attacks) and Wrath: on death get out of the 5x5 within 3 s.

1. Finish The Frozen Door and gather 40 essence killing Zarosians (or an Ecumenical key). With 5+ Zaros items you gain extra essence and the altar restores everything.
2. Pray each phase's style before she attacks and position as the phase demands (stacked or far).
3. When she shouts a mage's name (80/60/40/20%) kill it with ranged to continue.
4. Bring stab/crush (Fang, Zamorakian hasta, DWH) or a Black salamander to free ice prisons.
5. Zaros phase: dump damage, stop on Deflect Melee and run on death. Leave through the altar with a Zaros item equipped.

• 💡 Ironman without brews: Anglerfish or Karambwan, but brews give more kills per trip and duos are not possible without them.
• 💡 Thralls ignore her defence and count toward your contribution. The drop rolls by damage %: die or teleport out and your share is gone.
• 💡 Slayer helmet, facemask or gas mask halve Choke; Spectral spirit shield reduces her Prayer drains. Item reclaim at the chest: 100k.
