Why kill it as an Ironman

AFK combat xp with no food (it barely attacks; hits 1). Gems from mining its shell. Good start for melee and ranged (magic is less efficient).

Not a fight: the crab has infinite HP, zero defence and only hits 1. Hit it for 10 minutes, it burrows, follow it to the next nest through the cave. Near-AFK combat xp.

Mine the shell

When it burrows, only the 16 players who dealt the most damage can mine the shell (lasts 90 s) with a pickaxe: 3 unnoted gems, up to dragonstone. A green message tells you if you qualify.

1. Finish Children of the Sun. Fly the Quetzal to Tal Teklan and run south to the nest.
2. Your best 4-tick weapon and all the Strength bonus you have. Accuracy does not matter.
3. Pray Burst of Strength or similar: raises your max hit and barely drains Prayer.
4. When it burrows, mine the shell and go through the cave to the next nest.

• 💡 Xp is 12.5% lower but no downtime. Melee is best; magic is inefficient here. Slayer helm does not apply.
• 💡 Ranged: mithril/adamant darts until 46, then Adamant crossbow with Ruby bolts (e). Ava's attractor at 30 Ranged.
• 💡 Restore Prayer at the Tal Teklan altar or with Moonlight moth mix; bank is right there.
